1. Find out if the ice bin is full.

2. Check to see if the water tank is empty.
If your water tank is empty, it won’t make any more ice. Before you decide that your ice maker is broken, check to see if the water tank is empty. If it’s empty, put the right amount of water in it.
3. Check to see if the power cord is broken.
Your ice maker uses electricity to make ice. If your power cord is broken or doesn’t work right, electricity won’t flow through it. Before you call a repair person to fix your ice maker, you should check the power cable.
4. Check to see if the ice maker is in cleaning mode.
Almost all good ice makers have a built-in cleaning system. It runs a cleaning cycle after a certain amount of time so that the ice cubes are clean and don’t have a taste. Check to see if your ice maker is not in cleaning mode. It will take a few minutes for the cleaning cycle to finish.
5. Check to see if any scales are forming.
There are a lot of dirt and minerals in the tap water, which causes scale to form inside the tubes. If you haven’t cleaned your ice maker in the last six months, it’s time to do so.
